Digital
Cameras & Scanning (Updated)
If Santa gave you
a new digital camera for Christmas (or even if he didn't) this workshop
is for you. Learn important concepts when taking digital photos
and scanning. This session will be set up in three stations.
During the session, you select two stations in which to participate.
Station #1: Get hands-on experience taking photos and transferring
them to your computer. Station #2: Learn to use the
Academy's photo scanners. Station #3: Learn some tips and
tricks about using the school's copy machines that can also scan
documents.

OneNote as a
Collaboration Tool (NEW!)
Microsoft OneNote is much more than a
binder for your personal notes. You can share a single page of a
notebook with someone in real time, or a group of people can synch one
notebook on or off campus. You can even make your own digital
course packs to electronically distribute to people without making any
paper waste. Get some hands-on practice with these collaborative
aspects of OneNote.

Photoshop
Elements
Photoshop Elements is the Academy's four-star photo manipulation
application. Learn new features of this program as well as the basics
if you are a "newbie" to the software. This hands-on workshop will have
you apply quick fixes to photos, resize, crop, layout images and print
photos. We will do a variety of images together and then you will have
an opportunity to work on your own photos. Please have images available
on your hard drive or the server if you wish to work on your own photos.
Sample photos will be provided for those that don’t have images.

Tablet PC Sharing Session During
this meeting, people will share experiences that will benefit others in
the Tablet PC Program. It might be something done with students or
something tried in terms of professional practice. It might be a
long term project or a small item. The important thing is to
share.
A suggested focus topic for this session is uses
of OneNote.

"Check Point" for Mobile Tech'ers
This session is a self-evaluation of your efforts
thus far in the Mobile Tech Program and a planning session for the
future. We will also ask for your feedback on the Mobile Tech Program.
Any remaining time will be spent on “tips and tricks" and your
questions.
All Mobile Technology Program Participants that
are new to the Program this school year are asked to attend one of the
two sessions. |
