Microsoft OneNote Basics & Hidden Secrets

Are you unsure of how to use OneNote (Microsoft's digital notebook tool)?  Many people are using it, but there is a learning curve.  Get the basics of this  amazing tool that has the potential to change the way you take notes and gather information with your computer. OneNote might be the most revolutionary software tool Microsoft has ever developed.  Come to this hands-on workshop and see for yourself.

Moodle Part 1 & Part 2

This workshop is for faculty and administrators who wish to set up their own Moodle sites.  Moodle allows for secure discussions, private journals, uploading assignments and more.  This two part workshop focuses on discovering Moodle's uses in Part I and setting up your own Moodle in Part II.  You must attend both sessions to set up your own Moodle.  In addition, there will be some fun online activities to complete between Part I and II of the workshop.

Discovery Streaming

Discovery Streaming (previously known as United Streaming) is our online, digital media resource featuring over 80,000 content-specific video segments, images, audio files, and animations.  During this hands-on workshop, you will have time to create a lesson/multimedia project for students.  We will start with an overview of the tool and then focus on integration strategies.

DyKnow Vision (NEW!)

DyKnow Vision allows teachers and students to interactively share, annotate, save, retrieve and replay material during and after class. Tablet PCs provide the optimal environment for the use of DyKnow.

We are piloting this software tool with faculty members that use either of the tablet carts or teach Grade 9 students.  If you want to be in this pilot group, come to this session.

Tablet Sharing Session via Distance
(New Format)

This is our first technology workshop that is not on campus.  Actually, we will be gathering online to share our successes with Tablet PCs, big and small.  (This means you can stay home in your pajamas.)  We will use a software program called GoToMeeting to accomplish this task.  As a discussion point please review this blog post for teachers new to Tablet PCs.  (Audio requires you to have a mic and headset or you can use a standard long-distance call-in number.)
